    1. Thank you for the comment and note, I’ve seen that article! I’ve found that some newspaper reports from that period occasionally misattributed paternity (there was a 1990 calf initially reported as Bayou’s that was later confirmed via studbook to be Schooner’s).

      Because of that, I try to treat newspapers as secondary sources unless they’re supported by studbook or institutional records. For now, I’ll note Bayou as a potential sire with a qualifier unless additional documentation surfaces.
